Lida Aghasi

Executive Director, Centre social d’aide aux immigrants (CSAI)

Lida Aghasi has been with CSAI since 2001. Founded in 1947, the Centre social d’aide aux immigrants (CSAI) is a not-for-profit community organization dedicated to welcoming immigrants and refugees to Montreal. She started out as a volunteer and subsequently held several positions, before becoming Executive Director in 2014. With a doctorate in education, she is particularly interested in immigration issues, the challenges of integrating refugees and immigrants, especially in terms of intercultural relations and interventions, and the socio-professional integration of refugees and immigrants.

Co-president of the Table de concertation des organismes au service des personnes réfugiées et immigrantes (TCRI) and one of three Quebec representatives on the Conseil national d’établissement (CNE), she has developed numerous health and education projects for refugees.
