Donielle Roman

Chief Program Officer, Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO)

Coming from a Social Science background, Donnielle has almost 15 years of experience in management and over 20 years working with children and youth facing multiple barriers and adversity.

In 2009 Donnielle transitioned into the role of Supervising Manager, where she was responsible for the management, coaching and mentorship of 6 Managers in the Youth sector. During this time, she worked closely with the team to increase productivity and satisfaction among employees and clients.

In 2019 Donnielle joined the OCISO Team as the Manager of Youth Services. Under her management, the OCISO Youth Program evolved significantly, offering innovative and dynamic services.

In March 2023, Donnielle started a new role at OCISO as the Chief Program Officer. Donnielle sits at several tables in the settlement sector and piloted OCISO’s first Racial Equity Committee as the Chair for over a year. Donnielle has a vast portfolio of funders she has worked with and has successfully won multiple proposals and grants over the last four years.

Donnielle utilizes positive energy and a sense of humour to create and nurture holistic relationships with those she supports. She believes in a strengths-based approach; she is solutions-oriented and uses critical thinking to solve problems. Donnielle considers her most significant professional accomplishments to be those where she has supported employees in realizing their full potential through mentorship, coaching and professional development. Outside her professional life, Donnielle is an avid reader, writer and seeker of peace and happiness.
